Created in 2002 by a team of Telecom Professionals coming out of Ericsson, Owasys’ mission is to create Open Linux Platforms for OEMs, System Integrators and Service Providers to create new and innovative services.
Owasys is currently working with over 200 System Integrators mainly in Europe, but also in North and South America, Australia and Asia, being active in several projects with Bus Manufacturers, Electric Vehicle Engine Manufacturers and Fleet Management companies within the Public Transport market. Because of this experience and current customers demand Owasys is involved in the design of a new Linux Embedded Platform (fully developed to cover with the ITxPT specifications), which will be launched to the market during 2019.
“We are really excited about what this Standard Open Platform is going to be able to offer to the Electrical Public Transport market as it will allow companies with expertise in the Public Transport market to develop new and innovative solutions without the barrier of needing to develop and maintain specific HW and interfaces, reducing the Time to Market and increasing the robustness of the solutions”.
The new owa450 platform is based on the owa4x platform, the latest in the range of Wireless Embedded Computer platforms launched by Owasys in 2017 and has been developed with the experience gained during the last 16 years now, with a global installed base of over 180,000 units covering a wide variety of industrial and automotive applications.
